Our immigration journey officially started on 10/10/2008 when I e-mailed some documents to Alberta for pre-assessment under 'AINP U.S. Visa Holder Category.' Landed as PR on 11/15/2009. Timeline is at the end.
Hi Nix1, Thanks for the great blog, very useful! I've been trough the same process, I'm a H1B holder in the US, I applied to PR in Canada last year. I received my passport with the immigrant visa on April and I'm planning to land in Calgary in September. But I believe I'll be moving for real to Canada next year around June. Right now I'm looking for information regarding finding a job and cost of living so I can plan my moving a little bit better. Are you still in US? i am also a PR of Alberta under the Program but alfter a year i bacame a resident I am still working here in the US. I just wann know the implications of Income Tax Filing. Dont want to be double tax...
